These internal research pages provide an overview of research support delivered by professional services across the University.

Our research focuses on four broad research themes: Agriculture, Food & Health; Environment; Heritage & Creativity; and Prosperity & Resilience. These themes encompass our existing areas of strength and those we intend to grow; they drive research excellence within the core disciplines of our 37 research divisions.

For information about current research activity, visit our external research pages or our Connecting Research blog. A list of research seminars and events is available on the Connecting Research events listing.

Management of Research

The University's new Research and Innovation Strategy focuses on creating an environment and culture that enables excellent research and will make best use of our resources, our strengths, our location and our partnerships at local, national and global levels.

Research governance and committees

Our revised research governance model is informed by four key principles: accountability, leadership, effectiveness, and inclusiveness. These in turn shape the committee structure, membership and their ways of working. Information about committees' ways of working, how colleagues can contribute to committee decisions and summary minutes are available on the Research Governance page.
