People Development

Welcome to People Development - the home of staff learning and development for the University of Reading. People Development aims to provide a wide range of learning opportunities to help you and your teams to reach your full potential whilst working at the University.

We offer a wide range of learning and development opportunities including classroom and online training, tailored development support, apprenticeships, research staff development, leadership and management development, coaching and mentoring.

The University's Leadership Principles - 3Rs

Almost all of us, whether or not we have a formal leadership or management role within the University, collaborate and work with colleagues to make things happen. The 3Rs is a set of guiding principles for all staff on how to successfully achieve our goals in way that is supportive of people.

Leadership & Management Programmes

People Development offer a range of Leadership & Management development programmes, workshops, coaching and 360 degree feedback to support University leaders and managers with their development.

University-Wide Open Programme

The open programme consists of a fantastic range of classroom based, online & hybrid development opportunities that run throughout the year. Courses are open (in the main) to all staff to support professional and personal development. Apprenticeships for Staff

Apprenticeships offer exciting opportunities for staff to develop their knowledge and skills in an existing role and gain a nationally recognised, vocational qualification. Please visit Apprenticeship page for more details.

E-Learning 

The University has an extensive library of e-learning courses available to staff with new content being added throughout the the year, so make sure that you regularly log in to be kept up to date by visiting  UoRLearn.

Coaching and Mentoring

The University has an internal Coaching and Mentoring network to support staff development.
