HR Digital Systems Development

As part of the University’s Digital Strategy, work is underway to enhance and replace HR’s digital infrastructure.

iTrent, the current core HR and Payroll platform, will be optimised to deliver a better experience for colleagues using Employee Self Service (ESS) and Manager Self Service (MSS). This will allow us to improve processes for colleagues and managers, as well as for HR teams, to enable HR to be more responsive and efficient. In addition, some standalone platforms, such as Jobtrain, will be replaced with dedicated iTrent modules so managers and employees go to one system rather than logging into multiple HR systems. This will simplify the overall infrastructure and provide a single, consistent interface for key HR digital systems.

Further updates and information will be shared on this page as they become available.

Winter 2026 Update:

The UoRLearn platform will be transitioned to a new learning management system in February 2026, which will include newly built integrations with Microsoft Outlook and the core iTrent platform. During the transition period, colleagues will retain full access to their  learning record, however are encouraged to download their learning record for future use  in Performance and Development Reviews or for proof of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

To download your record from UoRLearn, follow the instructions under Useful documents. People Development and CQSD teams will continue to have access to archived information after the transition period.
