HR December and January deadlines

University of Reading will be closed between the 22nd December 2023 until the 2nd January 2024.

The deadline for new roles to be received by recruitment@reading.ac.uk is 12:00pm Thursday 14th December 2023.
Roles must have been approved by the SRF Review group, have been through HERA if required, and include the JDPS and Advert requirements form.

The deadline for signed acceptance forms for December payroll is Friday 1st December 2023. The December pay date is Wednesday 20th December 2023.
For any new starter starting employment between Wednesday 2nd January  and Friday 5th January  2024, all documents including their acceptance form needs to be sent across to HR (hr@reading.ac.uk) by 12:00pm Thursday 14th December 2023 to receive their logon details by their start date. 

Deadline for Acceptance forms for January payroll is Thursday 4th January 2024.

 

The Human Resources Function provides a range of services to develop, advise and support University colleagues and managers.   We support the delivery of the University’s strategic goals through the recruitment, retention, reward, recognition and development of University staff.   We support good people management and leadership practice through the development of employment strategy, policy, procedures and services.

The HR Function is led by Director of HR, Claire Rolstone

Professional and Advisory

The Professional and Advisory team provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers and staff including recruitment, performance management, change management and dispute resolution.

HR Operations

HR Operations provide the delivery of effective transactional services to managers, staff and potential new recruits including general enquiries, recruitment and HR administration and payroll functions.

Pensions

The Pensions team provide an on-site service in respect of the University's pension schemes, USS and UREPF.

People Development

The People Development team provides staff learning and development activity, excluding staff development relating to teaching and learning.

Reward and Benefits provides advice to managers and staff in respect of recognition and reward, re-grading, and benefits.

Advice and support on all issues relating to equality and diversity for staff and students.
