Workplace Wellbeing Survey
At the University of Reading, we are committed to creating a positive, supportive and inclusive workplace where colleagues feel they can thrive. Understanding the experiences of our people is essential to helping us maintain a healthy working environment across the University.
This survey is open from Thursday 8 October 2026 and will close on Sunday 15 November 2026.. Employees will receive an email from survey-invite@peopleinsight.co.uk to invite them to participate. If colleagues would prefer not to click on the link the email invitation, then the survey can be accessed via https://say.peopleinsight.io/UniofReading/WorkplaceWellbeingSurvey entering an Employee number to record your responses. Alternatively, scanning the QR code on the right can access the survey via smartphone where responses can be recorded that way.
Workplace wellbeing is influenced by many factors, including workload, relationships, support, flexibility, autonomy and organisational culture. While wellbeing, stress and mental health are related, they are not the same:
- Wellbeing refers to our overall experience of feeling healthy, fulfilled and able to function effectively at work and in our personal lives.
- Stress is a response to pressures or demands that can become harmful when they are excessive, prolonged or difficult to manage.
- Mental health describes our psychological and emotional state. Everyone has mental health, just as everyone has physical health, and it can fluctuate over time.
This survey focuses on the broader factors that contribute to workplace wellbeing. It is not intended to assess individual mental health conditions or diagnose stress-related concerns. Instead, it seeks to understand how our working environment, culture, ways of working and support arrangements enable colleagues to thrive and perform at their best.
The survey includes questions about workload, autonomy, culture, team dynamics, manager support, flexibility and overall wellbeing. Your feedback will help us identify what is working well, understand where improvements are needed, and inform actions that support colleagues across the University.
The survey is confidential, and responses will be reported in aggregate form only. We encourage you to answer honestly and openly. Every response is valuable and will contribute to shaping a workplace where all colleagues feel valued, supported and able to do their best work.
