Teachers and Advisers Conference 2016

Our annual Teachers and Advisors Day will showcase a range of subjects from the University's portfolio throughout the day.   In the morning you will be able to find out information from our admissions and student finance teams and then be able to visit any one of our departments to find out more about their courses and facilities.

Department of English Language and Literature

The INSETs this year are both on Teaching Creative Writing. Details are as follows:

Wednesday 11 November 2015, 4-6pm, Whiteknights Campus, University of Reading. This session will be led by Adrian Blamires.

Adrian Blamires was born in Cornwall but now lives in Reading, where he is completing a PhD in Early Modern Literature & Drama. His first collection of poetry, The Effect of Coastal Processes was a Waterstone's Best New Poetry selection and was reviewed in The Guardian and De Groene Amsterdammer. The title poem was read on Radio 4's Poetry Please. His latest collection is The Pang Valley.
Wednesday 24 February 2016, 4-6pm, Whiteknights Campus, University of Reading. This session will be led by Conor Carville.

Conor Carville was born in Armagh City. Educated at Trinity College Dublin and Oxford University, he is currently Associate Professor in English and Creative Writing at the University of Reading. In 2007 he won the Patrick Kavanagh Award for Poetry. His collection of poems, Harm's Way, was published by the Dedalus Press in 2013.
