Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences Teachers' Day

Location: Whiteknights Campus, University of Reading

Date: Tuesday 16th July 2013

The Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences is once again inviting teachers and advisors to its annual Teachers' Day on Tuesday 16th July 2013 held in conjunction with its three-day course for sixth-form students. We would love teachers involved in delivering science or food technology to students in Years 9 - 12 to come along to this free event to learn more about the Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences and possible careers for students interested in working in this industry.

The Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences at the University of Reading is the largest department of its kind in the UK and renowned for its excellence in teaching and research. It achieved a rating of 5 in the last Research Assessment Exercise recognising the national and international quality of our work, and an 'Excellent' rating in the Teaching Quality Audit (TQA).

At this Teachers' Day you will have the opportunity to:

      • Attend informative talks on hot issues that affect the food we eat
      • Attend an interactive seminar on careers in the food industry
      • See what the visiting students get up to on the Summer School course
