University of Reading appearing in news media including TV and radio

Plane turbulence: Daily Mail, The Independent, ABC News, AOL, The Guardian, ABP Live, AP News and various US media outlets quote Professor Paul Williams (Meteorology) about the increasing frequency of clear-air turbulence after a Delta flight’s emergency landing in Minneapolis. UNILAD and People Online mention 2023 University research on worsening aircraft turbulence.

#PlanetPartners: working with global partners to protect the environment 

  • BBC Radio 4 interviews Professor Sir Brian Hoskins (Meteorology) on the need for renewable energy schemes.

Health and wellbeing:

  • Ulster Herald (in print) features comments from Dr Simon Clarke (Biomedical Sciences), rejecting the alleged health risks from phone masts.

  • Screen Daily highlights the University’s Screen Industry Voices report on freelancers. From our story: Freelancer exodus from film and TV threatens UK growth
  • Newsweek and various US regional outlets like Myrtle Beach Online, Mahoning Matters, The State, Sacramento Bee, Merced Sun-Star, Macon, Miami Herald, Star-Telegram, Fresno Bee, DNYUZ, Herald Sun and Idaho Statesman, report research by Dr Rita Fontinha (Henley Business School) highlighting the benefits of the four-day workweek for employees and organisations.
