University of Reading appearing in news media including TV and radio

Solar eclipse: Millions of people in the United States are preparing to view a total solar eclipse today (Mon, 8 April). 

  • Fox News mentions a 2016 study by the University of Reading, finding that eclipse events could pick up wind speeds and change wind direction, quoting Professor Giles Harrison (Meteorology). Republished by Ordo News, The Baltimore Post, DNYUZ, Times of India and WCCS Radio.
  • Professor Christopher Scott (Meteorology) spoke to Sky News about the total solar eclipse and whether a partial eclipse may be seen in the UK.

Temperature impact on dinosaur size: BBC News reports on a new study co-authored by Dr Jacob Gardner (Biological Sciences) about the impact temperature played on the size of extinct mammals and dinosaurs.
