You can purchase other amenities, including kitchen equipment through Unikitout at www.unikitout.com/UPP using the discount code UPPREADING18 at the checkout to receive a 10% discount and free delivery on items over £70. Your delivery will be made to your hall reception for you to collect once you arrive. We recommend you select a delivery date one day before the date you are due to arrive.
If you need to book a car parking space, you can do so here. The cost is £13.10 per month. This rate is not available on a pro-rata basis.
Can I pay in instalments?
All bookings must be paid for up-front. If you are requiring accommodation on a long term basis and payment up-front is not afforadble for a long term booking, please make several shorter bookings to make payment more affordable.Can I be allocated with friends?
Yes, as long as you have booked a room in the same hall. Please state your friend’s name(s) and booking reference numbers where possible in your booking notes. Each flat has an average of 8–10 bedrooms, so if there are more than 8–10 of you, we will not be able to allocate all of you together.
How can I get to campus?
Arrival instructions, including your hall address, are included in your booking confirmation email. Find out more information on reaching the University of Reading here.
Can I check in early?
Check-in is at 2pm. If you need to check-in early, please call the halls hotline on 0800 029 1984 quoting your booking reference number to request an early check-in, although we cannot guarantee this.
How can I check in out of hours?
Our reception areas are staffed between 8.30am - 5.30pm Monday-Friday. If you arrive outside of these hours, you should use the call point located in the reception. This will contact our 24/7 security team who will assist with your check-in.
Can I extend my booking?
Extensions to your booking can be made if the room is available for the extended period you require. Alternatively, we may be able to offer you an alternative room for this period, if your current or first room is unavailable.
Extensions must be made by 8.30am on the morning you are due to check-out and full payment must be received by the Stay@Reading team before an extension will be granted.
If you are due to check out on a Saturday or Sunday any extension requests must be made by 10am on the preceding Friday.
To extend your booking prior to check-in, please call us on 0118 378 8922 and to extend your booking after you have checked in, please request this at your hall reception.
We can accommodate bookings up until 9 September.
Can I shorten or cancel my booking?
If you wish to make any change to your booking, you must give us at least 10 clear working day’ notice of that change. Please be aware of our refunds policy:

COVID-19 information
- If you or anyone you live with have COVID-19 symptoms or a recent positive test please do not arrive for your booking, and let us know as soon as possible.
- A face covering is required in all shared indoor spaces in the halls and other buildings on campus, unless you're medically exempt.
- Please put on your face covering before entering the building, and use hand sanitiser.
- Please ensure you follow any one-way systems in the common areas at all times.
I graduate this summer. Can I still book as a University of Reading student?
Yes, if you are graduating this summer you are classed as a University of Reading student. Please use the student promotion code STUDENT2022 to unlock student rates and areas.
If you are a University of Reading alumni, you should book as a visitor. All student numbers are checked and verified prior to arrival.
How can I connect to WiFi?
If you're a current student or employee at the University of Reading, or any other European University, you can access our Eduroam Wi-Fi network using your unique credentials as you would normally.
If you are a visiting guest, you can access the Wi-Fi service by joining the UoR-Visitor network from your device, the required password is 'stay@reading'. Once on this page for the first time, you'll need to register via the ' New to StudentCom? Get Started ' prompt at the bottom of the web page. No voucher code is required for your access - you have unlimited access throughout your stay.
Each room has access to internet connection through a wired Ethernet cable.
