Construction Management
COVID-19 update
Find out about how we'll be delivering our courses in 2020.
Get to grips with the latest technology used in the creation of buildings, and gear up for a career in the design, creation and assessment of new structures.
Our courses are industry-relevant and enriched by a vibrant research environment. The University of Reading is one of the UK’s top-ranking institutions for Building (ranked 4th in the UK for 'Building' in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018 and the Complete University Guide 2019) and we are 3rd in the UK for research impact in architecture, built environment and planning (Times Higher Education Institutions Ranked By Subject, 2014, based on its analysis of REF 2014).
Our courses are structured so that you do not have to make a final decision about which degree to take until towards the end of your second year. This keeps your options open until you know exactly which pathway matches your evolving interests, enabling you to find the course that’s the right fit for you without compromising your studies.
You will also have access to the latest digital technology and software, including building information modelling (BIM), building energy and urban microclimate simulations, and 3D laser scanning; as well as access to our immersive virtual reality.
Benefit from our extensive links with industry and build your own network of contacts through our series of events, collaborations and placement opportunities. Many of our academic staff have direct experience of working in industry, and continue to be active in consultancy, contributing to the policy agendas of the government, industry bodies and professional institutions.
98% of the School of the Built Environment’s undergraduate students are in work or further study six months after graduating. (Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey, 2016-17.)
