Overview
The Scholarship is designed to recognise and support high-achieving international students commencing an eligible undergraduate degree at the University of Reading. Successful applicants will receive a £5,000 reduction in their annual tuition fees for each year of their eligible programme of study, subject to the applicable scholarship terms and conditions. Scholarships are awarded primarily on the basis of academic merit, with applicants assessed on their academic achievements and suitability for the award.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must hold an offer of admission to an eligible undergraduate course at the University of Reading, including an integrated master's degree, for entry in the 2027/28 academic year. Applicants must be classified as international students for tuition fee purposes. The Scholarship cannot be held in conjunction with the Global Sustainability Leaders Scholarship (GSLS).

£5,000 tuition fee reduction for each year of study.
Key dates
Applications for the Excellence Scholarship are considered in rounds. The dates for each round as follows:
- Round 1 - Applications submitted between 1 September-31 December 2026 awarded on 28 January 2027
- Round 2 - Applications submitted between 1 January-31 March 2027 awarded on 23 April 2027
- Round 3 - Applications submitted between 1 April-30 June 2027 awarded on 26 July 2027
- Round 4 (Clearing round) - Applications submitted between 1 July-20 August 2027 awarded on 27 August 2027
