Discover our range of support services

The University of Reading is here to help, support and guide you through your higher education experience, from application to graduation.

It’s important to us that you feel part of our University community. Even before you arrive, you can request a current Reading student to contact you and share their experiences, or answer any of your questions.

Welcome Week signals the start of the academic calendar and is when you’ll get a feel for what Reading is all about. It’s a chance for you to meet your tutors and other students on your course, explore the University and the Students’ Union, and join clubs and societies.

Throughout your time at the University of Reading, we offer you a range of support and development services to ensure you stay happy and healthy, increase your employability, and reach your full potential.

Student protection plan

Every university is required to have a Student Protection Plan that is approved by the Office for Students (OfS). It sets out what measures we have in place to protect you, as a student of the University of Reading, in the event that a risk to the continuation of your studies should arise and details how we would communicate with you about this.
