Are you interested in how the human mind develops over a lifetime? Do you wonder how we perceive the world around us? Or would you like to delve into the inner workings of the brain?
In psychology you'll explore the inner workings of the world's most complex machine: the human brain. You'll also leave with a wide range of transferable skills including data handling, scientific analysis, problem solving and communication.
You will benefit from being taught by experts who are passionate about the study of the human mind. For example, our clinical psychology modules are taught by professional psychologists from our in-house NHS clinics. This gives you a direct insight into professional practice and the latest developments in the field.
Our dedicated research facilities include an MRI scanner, electrophysiology, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). There are also observation rooms equipped with sound recording, video recording and editing facilities, as well as state-of-the-art eye tracking to support social psychology. Final-year research projects are exceptionally well resourced, and you will be able to recruit from a range of volunteer panels: young adult, autism, infant, and older adult.
