Loddon Garden Village consultation continues in Earley

The University of Reading, in partnership with Hatch Farm Land Ltd and Gleeson Land, is continuing a comprehensive programme of community engagement for the proposed Loddon Garden Village development.

 

Ahead of submitting a planning application, an additional event, specifically for residents in Winnersh and Earley, is proposed for Thursday 25 September.

 

The extra event follows on from a widespread consultation with the local community earlier this year. Over a six-week consultation period, which began in March 2025, the University and its partners undertook wide-ranging engagement to allow local residents, stakeholders and community groups to have opportunities to find out more about the proposals and share their views.

 

Feedback already received from these events have been reviewed by the project team and reflected in a Statement of Community Engagement, which will be submitted as part of the outline planning application.

 

 

The consultation included 10,433 newsletters sent to households, three public consultation events attended by 275 people, four area stakeholder meetgings, three market stall drop-in events, a project website, social media campaign, and media engagement leading to stories in news media. More than 400 written responses have been received via feedback forms, emails, letters and an online map, including from more than 350 people who have already attended public and online events and meetings.

 

The feedback received has played a vital role in shaping the proposals and the development team remains committed to ongoing engagement as the planning process continues.

 

To continue the conversation and address specific concerns raised by residents in Winnersh and Earley - such as transport, infrastructure and environmental impacts - a further consultation event will take place on Thursday 25 September 2025, from 3pm to 7pm at Maiden Place Community Centre, 1 Maiden Place, RG6 3HD.
