Local residents are invited to join the University of Reading for a special Centenary Community Forum, taking place on Whiteknights campus on Tuesday 30 June.
Hosted by Vice-Chancellor Professor Robert Van de Noort, the event marks 100 years since the University was granted its Royal Charter in 1926. Residents are invited to reflect on how the local community has shaped the University over the past century, discover how the centenary is being celebrated and share their views on how the University should engage with the area over the next 100 years.
As well as a welcome from the Vice-Chancellor, the evening will include an update on how the University has responded to feedback from its Autumn Community Forum.
Molli Cleaver, Community Engagement Manager at the University of Reading, said: "This year's Community Forum is a particularly special one. Reaching our centenary is a proud moment for the University, and we want the local community to be at the heart of how we celebrate it.
"These forums have always been about listening as much as sharing, and this milestone gives us a real opportunity to reflect on everything the community has contributed to the University over the last 100 years, while looking ahead to how we can work together for the next century."
The Centenary Community Forum will take place at the Meadow Suite, Park House, Whiteknights campus, between 6pm and 8.30pm. The event includes a BBQ and refreshments.
This free event is open to everyone in the local community. Registration is essential and tickets can be booked online.
