#PlanetPartners: working with global partners to protect the environment

  • Dr Akshay Deoras (Meteorology, pictured) spoke to Global News (from 15:35) about the impacts of El Niño. Net Weather featured comments from Dr Deoras on the impact it also has on India’s monsoon season. 
  • The Times quoted Dr Rob Thompson (Meteorology) on how heatwaves impact flood risks.
  • Professor Andrew Charlton-Perez and Professor Ed Hawkins (both Meteorology) wrote for The Conversation about their research into the weather forecasting system used for D-Day.

  • Master's student Sebastian Moore wrote for Apolitical about public sector AI investment, highlighting work by Professor Kecheng Liu (Henley Business School).
  • Politico highlighted the anniversary of the publication of the Wolfenden Report on 4 September 1957, led by previous Vice-Chancellor Sir John Wolfenden, calling for the decriminalisation of homosexuality.
  • Visiting Professor Niaz Asadullah (Economics) wrote for The Daily Star about crisis faced by universities in Bangladesh.
