University of Reading appearing in news media including TV and radio

Food and farming:

WDC News, SSBCrack, Ygeia Watch, Cyprus News and MSNBCTV reported on a study by PhD student Sabrina Longley (Food and Nutritional Sciences) on artisan cheese. From our story: Could artisan cheeses that please ease diseases?

Dr Andreas Karatzas (Food and Nutritional Sciences) was quoted by The Independent about rising cases of salmonella poisoning, (republished by News Break, Newswav, MSN, Ground News, Yahoo News, AOL, and others).

 

#PlanetPartners: working with global partners to protect the environment

Professor Liz Stephens (Meteorology) spoke to BBC Radio 4 and LBC Radio, and was quoted by GB News, The Independent, The Guardian, Joe, Heart Radio Berkshire, Western Telegraph, Newsbreak and South Wales Argus on incoming rain showers across the UK and drought recovery. Her comments were replayed by various radio stations and republished by MSN.

Hounslow Herald reported on a Kew Gardens flower display inspired by Professor Ed Hawkins’ (Meteorology) climate stripes.

A study by Professor Paul Williams (Meteorology) found that climate change is increasing air turbulence, reports TravelBinger.

BBC Four replayed an episode of Down and Dirty: The Science of Soil, featuring Emeritus Professor Stephen Nortcliff (Soil Science).

BBC Radio Berkshire highlighted the semi-final of the University’s 2026 Botanical University Challenge.

 

Business and society:

Dr Anna Jackman (Geography and Environmental Science) wrote an article for The Conversation about the increasing use of drones in military conflicts.

The HR Director (print) featured an article from Professor Nada Kakabadse and the late Professor Andrew Kakabadse (both Henley Business School) about the social impacts of governance policies.

Financial Mail quoted Jon Foster-Pedley, Dean of Henley Business School Africa, on the school’s industry partnerships.

PhD researcher Feranmi Adeoye (Law) wrote for The Nation about the uses of AI.

Professor Steve Musson (Geography and Environmental Science) spoke to BBC Radio Berkshire about the closure of high street Post Offices.

Dr Kirsty Denyer (Henley Business School) was quoted by Energy Live News about the transition from oil and gas to clean energy jobs.

 

Heritage and culture:

Forward and Jewish Post highlighted the University’s Samuel Beckett Archive.
