Professor Andrew Charlton-Perez said:
“I really welcome the publication today of a clear and comprehensive strategy for the education estate. Giving all young people, regardless of their background, a safe and sustainable environment to learn in has to be at the top of the national priority list.
"The Climate Ambassadors programme, which supports all education settings to develop a comprehensive Climate Action Plan, is ready to help all nursery, school and college leaders deliver on this ambitious strategy.
"As we have seen over the last few weeks, climate resilience has to be built into education just as it does in all areas of society to avoid loss of education and ultimately loss of opportunity for young people.”
