THE sustainability rankings: The University has ranked 61st equal in Times Higher Education's Impact Rankings 2023, Wales Online reports. The rankings measure universities' contributions to the United Nations’ (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Reading ranked second place for "responsible consumption and production", eighth for "life on land", and tenth for "climate action". Read our news story.

• Further coverage of a study co-authored by Professor Gunter Kuhnle (Food and Nutritional Sciences) which has found that flavanols, a micronutrient found in tea, berries and apples, have a positive effect on memory by BBC Learning English, Health Line, Fox 5 Online, Sinar Harapan, and Bangladesh Weekly. • Dr Alex Baker (Meteorology) is quoted by the Mirror on a study he co-authored which found climate change is increasing the probability that tropical cyclones develop into hurricanes.
