University of Reading appearing in news media including TV and radio

Extreme weather: Professor Richard Allan (Meteorology) is quoted in i News on jet streams causing global heatwaves, saying how melting away clouds heat the ground and air above, rather than evaporating moisture.  

 

#PlanetPartners: working with global partners to protect the environment

  • The Daily Mail, (also in print) and Conservative Daily News mention Professor Hannah Cloke (Meteorology/Geography) on extreme heat in Europe.

  • El País reports on University research that found clear-air-turbulence could triple by the end of the century.

  • Professor Paul Williams (Meteorology) is quoted in Aol., RocketNews, on how rising temperatures can make planes heavier, causing issues when taking off. 

  • Dr Akshay Deoras (Meteorology) is quoted in Ani News, Big News Network, webindia123.com and NewKerala.com on climate change increasing the frequency, intensity and duration of heatwaves.  

  • News18 quotes Kieran Hunt (Meteorology) regarding the intensity of rainfall of India, which could increase in a warming world.

  • Professor Gunter Kuhnle (Food and Nutritional Sciences) is quoted in Ingredients Network on the consumption of ultra-processed foods

 

#UniForReading: our role as a civic university   

  • Reading.Today and Wokingham.Today reported how a group of Wokingham schools have collaborated with the University of Reading on an initiative which promotes their positive approaches to learning. The banner trail is showcased throughout the University’s Whiteknights campus. Also mentioned on Heart Berkshire.
