University of Reading appearing in news media including TV and radio

Ukraine: MSN, Market Screener, US News, Yahoo! News, Alarabiya News, The Star, Devdiscourse, The Gazette and many other publications such as Investing.com, WMBD-AM and WKZO-AM republished an article by Reuters, regarding the multiple war crimes struck upon Ukraine and their resources, Professor Marko Milanovic (Law) writes on the military attack at a hydroelectric power station.

#PlanetPartners: working with global partners to protect the environment 

  • In a recent report about heavy rainfall in Britain, Dr Liz Stephens (Meteorology) is quoted by the Daily Mail on the possibility of recent European temperatures becoming the new normal.
  • Financial Press writes on research from the University of Reading regarding intense turbulence and its connection to the climate.
  • The Times of India quotes Dr Akshay Deoras (Meteorology) on the light rainfall in Western and Southern India, saying it is tied to the break in monsoon conditions in August.
  • Envirotec reports on how Dr Andrea Jennifer Dittus (Meteorology) is one of twelve selected to advance their research through the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) Independent Research Fellowship (IRF) scheme.
  • The Reading Chronicle (in print) quotes Dr Stephen Burt’s (Meteorology) examination of weather data recorded at the University’s Atmospheric Observatory.

COVID-19: expert comment on the pandemic

  • MSN, Sound Health and Lasting Weather and Knowledia republished an article by the Daily Mail, quoting Dr Simon Clarke (Biomedical Sciences) on how Covid will ‘change and adapt’, after a new Covid variant arises.

Food and farming:

  • Index Digital reports how the University of Reading is in partnership with Kent Wildlife Trust for innovative crop trials.

Business and society:

  • i (in print) reports on the impact of inflation on regions in the UK, quoting Professor Carlo Corradini (Henley Business School) on wage growth being unbalanced, when looking at wage increases in places like London.
  • Professor Nada Korac Kakabadse (Policy, Governance and Ethics) writes for Board Agenda on why and how AI will affect organisations everywhere.
  • Heart Berkshire mentioned how experts from the University of Reading are set to carry out digs at an Anglo-Saxon monastery in Berkshire.

  • BBC Berkshire interviewed former professor at the university, Dr Mark Shanahan (Politics and International Relations), on the serious charges against Trump which he may be found guilty for.
  • BBC Devon and BBC Cornwall spoke to first year student Ciara, who reflects on her time at the university.
