University of Reading appearing in news media including TV and radio

#PlanetPartners: working with global partners to protect the environment 

  • ITV News Meridian (and online) and Education Business report on a University project, funded by the Community Fund, that worked with local schools to tackle air pollution by mapping air pollution hotspots during childrens' commute to school.
  • The Indian Express, New Indian Express, The Hans India, and Deccan Chronicle mentions Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's comment that a partnership the University would help promote Indian farmers to practice natural farming. 
  • Professor Tom Oliver (Biological Sciences) is quoted by Daily Sabah, The Star, and The Frontier Post on the unknown tipping point of insect ecosystems. 
  • Eastern Daily Press (in print) and the East Anglian Daily Times (in print) covers the listing for a Radio 4 programme Costing the Earth airing at 3.30pm which interviewed a Reading meteorologist.
  • Reading.co.uk reports on the Climate Ambassadors Scheme led by the University of Reading in collaboration with STEM Learning as part of The Department For Education's sustainability strategy. Professor Andrew Charlton-Perez (Meteorology), who led the scheme's creation, is quoted.
  • The Fish Site reports on the boosted funding of a collaborative University research project, Terrestrial Blue Economy, which aims to establish the UK as a world leader in sustainable shrimp farming using renewable energy technology.
  • Professor Mathew Owens (Meteorology) is quoted by Maennersache on official sunspot number observations and predictions.
  • What's New In Farming reports on the use of an Algae supplement, developed alongside research from the University, with livestock to reduce methane emissions and greenhouse gasses.

  •  Dr Al Edwards (Pharmacy) is quoted by Hersfelder Zeitung and HNA on the development of a universal vaccine that boosts T-cell immunity.
