COVID-19: expert comment on the pandemic 

• Dr Simon Clarke (Biological Sciences) is quoted in The Daily Mail on the recent rise in infections; spoke to BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester about the new health secretary’s take on COVID; and BBC Radio Berkshire about the easing of lockdown restrictions on 19 July.
• Dr Al Edwards (Pharmacy) spoke to BBC Radio Berkshire about vaccination rates in the UK to keep COVID cases down.

• The Daily Mail mentions a partnership between AbScent and the University of Reading to learn more about parosmia caused by long COVID.
• BBC Radio Berkshire reports on COVID fines issued to students by the University of Reading, mentioning that Reading issued the most fines across England (not all fines related to COVID guidelines breaches). Pro-Vice Chancellor Parveen Yaqoob spoke to BBC Radio Berkshire about student fines.
