Linguistics
COVID-19 update
Find out about how we'll be delivering our courses in 2020.
Language is at the heart of human life. Its study is crucial to our understanding of ourselves as members of society, as individuals and as a species.
At Reading, one of the top 10 universities in the UK for Aural & Oral Sciences (Complete University Guide, 2021), we offer you the opportunity to study all aspects of this most complex form of human behaviour.
Explore the science behind language. As a student in the Department of Clinical Language Sciences you will benefit from our world-leading research in linguistics, language development and language disorders in monolingual and bilingual children and adults.
Additionally, most of our staff are practising speech and language therapists and they will give you a direct insight into the latest developments in clinical practice.
