My primary role is to ensure the smooth running of our partnership with the Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST). The University has established a joint academy in Nanjing with NUIST and in September 2018 welcomed around 290 new students across six subject areas. Active Projects:
New projects related to the Academy appear quite often, which is one of the rewarding challenges of working in transnational education. I am currently working on promotion and recruitment (both to the Academy and to University of Reading), access to e-resources, teacher certification, daily operational tasks and student experience concerns. I am also involved with discussions about moving the partnership beyond the undergraduate level.
Because of my China experience I am feeding into the University's 'China strategy' and helping the Schools deepen their engagement there.
Bio:
I spent six years teaching academic subjects and IELTS ( International English Language Testing System) in China before heading to London to study International Management (China) at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). I have been at University of Reading since June last year, initially looking after direct student recruitment from Hong Kong and South Korea, and helping out in China when needed. I moved over to ISLI in August 2017 and really enjoy the new job and the community feel.
