About NUIST
The University’s relationship with NUIST started in 2009 and led to the creation of a teaching partnership with the Department of Chemistry. This expanded into multiple course offerings and the establishment of the NUIST Reading Academy in 2015, a joint institute approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education. The Academy offers a range of undergraduate degrees in sciences and social sciences, with students spending three years studying in China before coming to Reading for their final year. From September 2018, the Academy has been able to recruit up to 300 students annually across a portfolio of six subjects. From September 2020, this expands with the addition of two new programmes, raising the total number of programmes on offer to eight.
University of Reading curricula, materials, assessment and quality assurance procedures are followed at the Academy, helping to raise educational standards and enhance the quality of the degree programmes on offer.
