Together, the University of Reading and the University of Law offer opportunities to support the next generation of legal professionals.

At the University of Reading, you can study a range of industry-leading postgraduate legal training courses from The University of Law (ULaw). As part of the relationship, ULaw has welcomed many students over the years at the University of Reading’s London Road campus.

This collaboration makes Reading the ideal place to pursue your ambition to become a lawyer.

Conversion programmes

The University of Law offers a number of law conversion courses, which offer you a pathway to progress onto become a solicitor or barrister. In an increasingly competitive job market, a background in another degree subject — together with a law conversion course —can help to set you apart from other graduates in terms of transferable skills and knowledge.

Legal Practice Course (LPC)

The LPC is the tried and tested route to solicitor practice in England and Wales, bridging the gap between academic study and training in a law firm.

The LPC represents the next stage of your training once you have gained a qualifying law degree or converted your non-law degree through the Graduate Diploma in Law.

Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) courses

The University of Law has developed a range of courses that will prepare you for a career as a solicitor, as part of the new SQE qualification route, as well as SQE success.

All our SQE courses meet the requirements of legal recruiters who want their future trainees to have knowledge and skills beyond the SQE. From the popular LLM Legal Practice (SQE1&2) to SQE prep courses, there’s an SQE course for everyone.
