Background
Dr Furkan Doğan is a legal scholar and practitioner working across the United Kingdom and Türkiye, specialising in commercial and maritime law. He currently serves as Visiting Fellow at the University of Reading and Visiting Lecturer at Piri Reis University, Istanbul. His work bridges academia and practice, with a particular focus on shipping and insurance law. Alongside his academic roles, he maintains an active professional practice through DOĞAN | Legal Consultants, a full-service law firm engaged in both advisory and litigation matters. He advises shipowners, P&I Clubs, ports, logistics providers and insurers on contentious, transactional and regulatory issues within the maritime and transport sectors.
