Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

The University of Reading is one of the UK's leading Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) centres. The scheme is a national, government-backed programme which enables businesses to improve their competitiveness and productivity by working with universities to access cutting-edge research and develop highly innovative products, systems and services.

The Knowledge Transfer Centre will work with you to identify appropriate expertise within the University of Reading and provide support for your project at every stage. The in-depth knowledge of our academic teams can bring fantastic benefits to your business as you grow and develop, offering real strategic advantage over your competitors.

How does it work?

A KTP will typically last 2-3 years and involves the University of Reading and a recent graduate working in partnership with you on a project that will help your business make a step change in an area that you have identified as a high priority for your business.

Businesses of all sizes in most industries and commercial sectors can benefit from KTP. They can help your organisation find innovative solutions for growth and deliver significant commercial outcomes. Have a look at our case studies to find out how we've helped a diverse range of companies.
