Study a PhD with the University of Reading and Macquarie University, Sydney, and you'll join a leading, research-intensive School.

Cotutelle PhD opportunities

Our cotutelle PhD programme, where you study jointly at two instituitions, allows doctoral students to spend time at both the University of Reading and Macquarie University and receive an award from both. 

You'll be registered at both universities and supervised by academics from both Reading and Macquarie.

Study arrangements depend on each individual project, with at least one year spent in each institution.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements may vary depending on your individual PhD programme. Prospective students are advised to contact a potential supervisor initially to discuss the project and possibility of participating in this cotutelle PhD.

Life on campus

Whiteknights campus is set on 130 hectares of beautiful parkland, so you'll find plenty of places to relax. It is home to a thriving community and features the Students' Union, Library and places to eat.
