Data Protection and the Research Excellence Framework (REF)

The Research Excellence Framework (REF) is the system for assessing the quality and impact of research in UK higher education institutions. It is undertaken by the four UK higher education funding bodies and managed by the REF team based at Research England (RE). RE is a part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).

The University therefore shares some information for the above purposes with UKRI for the REF. This is coordinated by the University's Planning & Strategy Office, further information is available here.
