Becoming a teacher

We offer a range of programmes, both University-led and school-led enabling you to train to teach at early years, primary or secondary level.

We offer PGCE, QTS and EYTS qualifications in early years, primary and secondary teaching; you will need to specialise in a certain age group and/or subject areas.

Education is the most powerful tool we have. How we educate the next generation is the key to our future not only as individuals but also as a society. That's why we are committed to developing caring and professional individuals.

We teach a variety of undergraduate courses, those with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) as an outcome and those for people who are interested in education more broadly.

Our flexible postgraduate courses are ideal for educational practitioners looking to enhance their skills, share knowledge and develop professionally.

We have a long and established track record of research excellence, working with a wide variety of academic, business and governmental partners to achieve significant social and educational benefits.
