The aim of the Research Practice Leads (RPL) group is to lobby for architectural research in practice and to share skills and knowledge. The RPL group was set up in May 2016 as part of the AHRC funded project Evidencing and Communicating the Value of Architects, led by Professor Flora Samuel, and was developed with Darryl Chen of Hawkins Brown.

It meets every two months in the offices of one of the participating practices.

The RPL group played a key role in the Professional Practices in the Built Environment Conference that took place in Reading in April 2017.

Several of the RPL members contributed case studies to the report Building Knowledge: Pathways to Post Occupancy.
