The University of Reading offers a diverse range of scholarships that we encourage our prospective students to apply for. These include those offered by the University itself, external organisations or by donors and sponsors, and a few that are jointly funded, which enable students to pursue their studies at Reading.
In addition to the UK Academic Achievement Scholarship for Home fee-paying students, the University of Reading has launched its Excellence Scholarship, available to International fee-paying students in the form of a tuition fee reduction from 2026 entry onwards.
The scholarship is allocated automatically based on performance in your previous degree studies.

Scholarship offered through GIIDAE
- GIIDAE Empowering Change Scholarship
The Empowering Change Scholarship is offered by the University to a number of scholars who have demonstrated their suitability for the scholarship and have a track record of outstanding academic achievement.
It provides a contribution towards living expenses and a reduction in tuition fees. The funds are split between £5000 towards living expenses and £5000 applied as a tuition reduction. It is designed to support well-rounded students from a World Bank low- or medium-income country and are subject to international fees who seek to create socio-economic change, using what they have learned through their postgraduate studies with GIIDAE.
