  • Project Manager on the LANDWISE research project
  • Supporting the Programme Coordination Group for the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) Natural Flood Management projects
  • Additional responsibility includes supporting the Programme Coordination Group (PCG) that will be responsible for day-to-day programme management, integration between the projects (Lancaster, Manchester and Reading Universities) and enabling the programme to speak with one voice to external stakeholders and deliver more than the sum of the three projects on their own. 

Areas of interest

Jo's main interests are focused on the Landwise project (LAND Management in lowland catchments for Integrated flood riSk rEduction). This project is to gain an understanding of the effectiveness of Natural Flood Management (NFM). It is a directed research programme that aims to improve understanding of the suitability and effectiveness of different NFM measures for a range of flood risk scenarios. The NFM programme is funded by NERC for 4 years from 2017-2021.

Background

Jo joined the department in February 2018. She has a BSc in Geography and has been a project manager for 17 years.
