The Academic English Programme (AEP) gives you access to academic language and skills courses throughout your time at Reading.

If you have any questions about the programme or need help with your Academic English, you can ask the AEP team.

Our Academic English tutors run drop-in sessions from Monday to Friday during semester time, offering 10-minute sessions to either individuals or small groups of 3 people or less. You can find us in the Global Study Lounge (Edith Morley, Room 230).

The AEP courses were probably the most valuable I took in my entire time at the University of Reading. I have already recommended them to other students.

Drop-in sessions

You do not need to book a session with the AEP team, just come along to get advice about Academic English or one of our courses.

Here are some things we can help you with:

  • quick tips on how to improve your academic vocabulary
  • suggestions on which course will help you improve your grammar
  • how to enrol on an AEP course.

If you would like more detailed advice about a piece of writing or a presentation, please request one of our 1:1 consultations.
