Opening Times
The Herbarium is usually open to University staff and students between 09.30 and 17.00 each working day however visitors are asked to contact the herbarium staff in advance of their first visit.
Group Bookings
Please contact us to arrange a group booking. This is essential to ensure that we do not have too many people in the museum at one time. School parties are particularly welcome and are charged a flat rate if a member of staff is required to support their visit. Otherwise, we request that groups pay a small donation to help us run the collection, of at least £2 per head for groups. Pre-arranged groups may visit outside opening times by appointment but this will incur a further charge. Please contact us for more information about visiting the Herbarium.
Access to the Collections
The collection is mainly housed on the first floor of the Harborne building. Specimens in the collection and in storage are made available to students and researchers, free of charge, on request to the curator.
Disabled Access
There are parking bays for disabled drivers at the side of the Harborne building, a ramp at the main entrance to the Harborne building and disabled toilets on the ground floor. Access to the first floor is via a lift. Visitors are required to book a parking permit.
Parking
The University has a strict policy on visitor parking, and any visitor wishing to travel by car should ensure they contact us in advance to arrange a permit.
