Whether you're looking to develop new skills, try something new, or simply just have fun, our packed programme of workshops and interactive sessions offers people of all ages the chance to learn, connect and grow.

From learning how to perform show-stopping musical numbers to experimenting with electricity, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at this year’s festival.

Please note: our workshops are offered on a first come, first-served basis. Some workshops require you to register on the day at our Pink zone information point.

An energetic, interactive African drumming workshop. No experience needed, just bring your energy and join the rhythm!

Session length: 30 to 40 minutes

Join Universal Voices Children's Choir for Flora and Fauna – a fun, creative music workshop for children and their parents or carers.

In this interactive session, you will move, chant and sing like all manner of birds, sea creatures and animals, exploring animal environments and habitats through music from albatross to zebras, and alpacas to zanders.

Unleash your inner artist at this year’s festival!

Create your own self-portrait with local artist Gunja in this fun, hands-on workshop. Gunja will guide you through simple techniques to help capture your personality on paper for you to take home and enjoy.

Suitable for ages 6+ and adults, this session will be a relaxing and inclusive chance to express yourself and celebrate who you are. All materials are provided.

Electricity Lighting Lab

Get hands-on and experiment with static electricity in the Electricity Lighting Lab! Join experts from the Department of Meteorology for interactive sessions exploring what electricity does in the Earth’s atmosphere.

Join Berkshire Music Trust for a fun-filled, high-energy music session designed especially for Pre-school and Reception children.

Sing, dance, and explore real musical instruments in an exciting, hands-on class. Parents and carers can join in the fun too!

Get an introduction to British Sign Language (BSL) from our excellent teachers in this interactive taster session. Learn more about this inclusive language, which is one of the most popular language courses taught at Reading.
