Suitable for ages 6+

Bubble football is a hilarious and chaotic twist on football. Strap yourself into a giant inflatable bubble football suit and step onto the pitch, then barge, bounce and bump your way through a thrilling five-a-side match.

Come and have an unforgettable Nerf wars experience in an inflatable battlefield and see if you can blast your way to victory!

Berkshire Cricket

Grab a bat and ball and experience cricket like you've never seen before. Everyone's welcome, whether you've played before or not. Whether you want to smash the ball, bowl at a target or throw as far as you can, our Street Cricket station has something for you!

Rugby

Join Berkshire Brigands Mixed Ability Team. Learn some new skills whilst having fun outdoors and make some new friends along the way. Everyone welcome.

Sport in Mind soft tennis

Location: Purple zone, sports field

Join us for pop-up tennis and soft archery. No experience required and open to all. We can’t wait to see you there!

Whiteknights FC Wildcats girls' football

Location: Purple zone, sports field

Suitable for girls aged 6+

Wildcats at Whiteknights FC offers non-competitive football for girls who want to give it a go for the very first time or want to play with other girls their age. Most importantly, it is all about having loads of fun and meeting new friends, for girls aged between 5 and 11 years old.

Mixed softball

Location: Purple zone, sports field

Softball is a growing sport in the UK, and with interest sparking with the reintroduction into the 2028 Summer Olympics, the University's softball society invites people of all ages to swing a bat and throw a ball. Join us for fun drills or even a game!

Charlotte’s Tandem Bikes

Location: Purple zone, sports field

Making cycling accessible with Charlotte’s Tandems. Children or adults with disabilities or special needs can enjoy a ride on a tandem bike or tag-a-long trailer with their responsible adult.

Berkshire Vision Sight Loss Simulation Games

Location: Purple zone, sports field

Come and try Berkshire Vision’s inclusive carnival games! Step into someone else’s shoes and experience fun challenges such as Hook-a-Duck, Hoopla, blind football dribbling, skittles and more, all while wearing our sight loss simulation glasses.

Reading Fencing Club

Location: Purple zone, SportsPark, Studio

Come and learn to fence with us! We will provide plastic masks and swords so you just need to bring your enthusiasm and be prepared to have some fun!

Wheelchair basketball

Location: Purple zone, SportsPark, Sports Hall 1

Join Reading Rockets basketball club and try out wheelchair basketball as you whizz around in specially designed sports chairs. Mini basketball is available for our younger visitors. A perfect way for the family to enjoy an accessible sport together.
Wheelchair rugby

Location: Purple zone, SportsPark, Sports Hall 1

Wheelchair rugby is a fun, safe contact sport, using specially designed chairs for people with a physical impairment and/or paraplegics. The sessions will be managed to suit the players' condition and experience. You don't have to be a wheelchair user to take part. Come and have a go!

Learn about Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby (GBWR)

Boccia

Location: Purple zone, SportsPark, Sports Hall 1

Come and try this paralympic sport that will test both muscle control and accuracy. From a seated position (and therefore ideal for wheelchair users), propel balls to land close to a white marker ball – the jack. Ramps are available if needed. Everyone welcome!

New Age Kurling

Location: Purple zone, SportsPark, Sports Hall 1

Come and try this indoor adaptation of traditional curling, which is perfect for beginners and suitable for all ages and abilities. Slide stones towards the target to see who can get the most points.

Archery

Come and try archery! Whether you're a complete novice or an experienced archer, come and see if you can be the next Robin Hood!

Face painting

Location: Green zone, Meadow

Celebrate our Centenary Community Festival with a touch of magic from Miss Sparkles! Come along and enjoy free face painting for all ages – adding colour and fun to your day.

Circus skills

Location: Pink zone, Palmer Quad

Roll up, roll up! Circus Scene brings exciting, interactive workshops packed with fun, creativity, and skill-building for all ages. Try something new, get involved, and experience the thrill of the circus for yourself.

Drumming workshop

Location: Pink zone, Palmer Quad

An energetic, interactive African drumming workshop. No experience needed, just bring your energy and join the rhythm!

Cycle skills park and Dr Bike free repair

Location: Orange zone, Carpark 4

Join the Kidical mass bike ride at Whiteknights campus for a fun, family-friendly 3–5km cycle celebrating active, green travel. Open to all wheels and abilities.

Enjoy exciting new cycle ramps, free kids’ bikes to borrow, and a complimentary Dr Bike check-up to get you summer-ready.
