As well as our academic programmes, we offer a number of opportunities for professionals looking to develop their knowledge of typography, typeface design, archives and design practice.

We often collaborate with special interest groups and museums on our events. Organisations we've worked with in the past include the V&A, the Bodleian Library in Oxford, and the Museum of Printing in Lyon.

Type Design intensive (TDi)

Mature student working in typeface design workshop

Our two-week intensive programme on typeface design, TDi, is ideal for those looking to develop a deeper understanding of typography.

We welcome professionals working in a range of fields – previous attendees have included designers, engineers, researchers and publishers.

You'll have the opportunity to explore your own interests, and graduate from the course with the ability to make informed design decisions. You'll gain a sense of context, an understanding of the conventions, and a sense of the scope for originality in typeface design.
