Areas of interest

My areas of interest include cell biochemistry, lipid biophysics, and organic chemistry. Specifically, I will be studying lipid cell membranes and their structure and function, and how they interact with drug molecules.

Polyphenols are drugs of interest, as they have applications in treating cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and cardiovascular diseases among others.

Neutron reflectometry is used to determine the structure of the model vesicles and bilayers to determine the structure and elucidate the potential drug interactions. Other analytical methods include DLS, DSC, FT-IR spectrometry, and SAXS.
