Would you like to learn a new language? Or would you like to continue a language you started learning before coming to university?

Languages for All – formerly the Institution-Wide Language Programme (IWLP) – offers modules in 10 languages. Six of these are offered from beginner to intermediate level, and four are offered from beginner to advanced level. You can take these alongside your degree if you are a student, or alongside work if you are a member of staff.

How to apply

Anyone who works or studies at the University is welcome to study a language with Languages for All. Modules can be taken as a credit module, or as a non-credit course for a fee.

Languages we teach

You can choose to learn Arabic, British Sign Language, Chinese (Mandarin), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Modern Greek, Russian or Spanish.
