Areas of interest

My areas of interest and research include professional teacher education and development, materials, course and assessment creation and development, educational leadership and practice and research and enquiry.


CSC Courses, Foundation in Academic Skills (both Home and International), Academic Skills, Pre sessional courses, Global graduate courses: Erasmus and Intercultural Communicative Competence.

Research projects

Ongoing ethnographic project with CSC course participants, PSE: Curriculum Development. Currently in the year three of the University of Reading Doctorate in Education researching educational leadership.


Teaching abroad since 1982, I co-owned and led a private language school where my teacher-training career started. I returned to the UK in 1998 where I completed further studies and developed a wide variety of teacher and professional development programmes in both generic teacher training and TEFL.
