Background

As Academic English Programme Director, I have academic and operational oversight of the University’s general and discipline-specific in-sessional provision.

Each department at the University of Reading has a dedicated Academic Language & Literacy Liaison contact from our Academic English Programme. I am the Liaison for the Schools and Departments listed above.

I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and I have worked on English for Academic Purposes courses in UK HE since 2009 in teaching and leadership roles. I worked at the Universities of Salford, Manchester and Liverpool before joining Reading in 2018. Prior to this I taught in Further Education as an ESOL tutor and teacher trainer and worked overseas teaching English in Holland, Poland, Spain and Australia.
