Step 1: The work request: What is a logger?

The logger is the person who logs a Wren with the Help desk. There are two types:

  • Authorised logger Person who is authorised by their department to request all types of work to be carried out, including customer-funded work
  • Unauthorised logger Person is not Authorised, but is able to request work to be carried out other than customer-funded work.

Anyone wishing to act as an authorised logger will need to arrange for their Head of Department to contact Kevin P Doyle, Business Systems Manager, Facilities Management (
