Research Interests

The main areas of staff research activity are given below. These are also the main areas in which we provide postgraduate research supervision. You can access some of the items published by our staff by searching on CenTAUR.

Language analysis, acquisition and bi/multilingualism (grammar, lexicon, phonetic systems, child bilingualism, psycholinguistics, WM). We cover a range of languages, including French, German, Greek, Italian, Mandarin, Hong Kong and Singaporean English, and L1/L2 English pairings also including Arabic, Japanese, Spanish, and languages from Africa and India.

Academic literacies and language pedagogies (academic writing, student transitions through college stages, ELT, EAL, CLT/task-based learning, fluency)
