Online Bookings

Members of staff are permitted to book centrally controlled rooms online between the hours of 9:00 - 18:00, for durations of between 30 minutes & 4 hours.  Please also read the standard guidelines at the bottom of this page.  For departmentally controlled rooms, any restrictions will be dictated by the School/Department directly.

Please note that bookings may only be made after certain dates. More information can be found on the Help Page and the When Rooms Can Be Booked.

Please note that if you email a request that may reasonably have been completed online, you may be directed to do so. We are happy to offer advice on the best way to use the online system.

If you're struggling to find a room and can't locate a space after checking the system, our team is always here to help.

Why use CMISGo?

When to Self-Serve?

Before emailing the team, please check if your request is FAST:

  • F – Four hours or less?
  • A – Any standard working hour (weekdays, 09:00–18:00)?
  • S – Same time for each occurrence?
  • T – Time-sensitive?

If your request fits these criteria, you can secure your room immediately online. By handling these "FAST" bookings yourself, you allow our specialist team to focus on the complex, large-scale event requests that require manual expertise.

As a reminder, departmentally controlled room bookings should always be completed using CMISGo.

Late notice bookings

Please be aware that room use reports are sent to Portering Services and other areas on a Thursday, for the following week, in order to help them plan their work. Therefore, if you are arranging a late notice booking, you are advised to contact Portering Services so that they are aware of the booking and will ensure the room is unlocked ready for use.

Online booking guidelines

In additional to the standard room booking rules and guidelines, please ensure the room booked is of an appropriate size. In order to ensure that the University estate is properly utilised, if the room booked is less than 50% occupied, the booking may be refused.
