Background

Silvia Baldanza graduated with an MChem in Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry from the University of Palermo (Italy), with a final Thesis Research Project in Environmental Chemistry.

She studied for her PhD in Surface Science at the University of Reading under the supervision of Professor Georg Held, investigating organic/metal interfaces as templates for heterogeneous catalysis.

During her PhD, she worked as International Support Tutor at the University of Reading for the pastoral and academic support of students from Nanjing University (China), developing a keen interest in tutoring international students.

In 2015, Silvia joined the International Foundation Programme at the University of Reading as Tutor for Information Systems and Statistics, teaching to students from different background at the beginning of their studies in the UK.
