Research projects

The Medieval Ritual Landscape (MeRit) 

Background

Rob developed his expertise in medieval metal artefacts through various roles with the Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS). As well as acting as Finds Liaison Officer for a number of counties from 2006 onwards (Hampshire, Somerset, Devon), he was a Project Officer on ‘PASt Explorers’ between 2014 and 2019, training PAS volunteers. His PhD examined metalwork across the period traditionally divided by the Norman Conquest, and most recently he was a PDRA on the University of Exeter’s ‘Warhorse’ project.
