Events

The SCR organises an annual calendar of events for members and guests. 

Members and guests who take part in SCR events are asked to note that they do so at their own risk, and neither the SCR nor its members accept liability for any mishaps.

To have a look at past social programmes, here are the type of events that we organise: 

a) Pre-pandemic: 2019 Autumn and 2020 Spring schedules

b) During the pandemic: 2020 Autumn and 2021 Spring schedules. 

Our next Social Event is:-

Go East wine tasting

Friday 23 June, 5.30-7.30pm

Park House, Whiteknights Campus

We will taste a selection of bottles including some fantastic wines from Germany, Croatia, Hungary and further Eastwards, hopefully bringing something new for most people. The tasting will include some blind comparisons.

Bookings with payment (£20.00 per member and £25.00 per guest, to include light food), should be madeno later than Wednesday 14 June.

BeerTasting

Friday 30 June, 6.30-8.30pm

Acacias Lounge, London Road Campus

We will have a range of beers to taste at this event from local breweries from East Berkshire and Surrey. There will be up to 12 different beers to taste covering different types and methods of brewing from fruity and sour varieties, pale ales, light summer beers and some distinctive beers. The cost for the event will cover the beer, bread, cheese and novelty snacks. The fee for the event will mean you can each have a very generous tasting of each beer.
